Dr. Matthias Tom Frei
CEO  Dr Frei holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany, and has 17 years of entrepreneurial and senior management experience in the telecommunications industry. He has founded several companies in both Germany and New Zealand engaged in a variety of technology sectors, including software, microelectronics design, an internet computing center, and distribution for American software products in several European countries. Under Dr. Frei's leadership these companies have achieved multi-million Euro annual revenue success. His key roles have included CEO, CFO, CTO, VP of Marketing, VP of Sales, and Director. With his visionary approach, Dr. Frei he took the emerging Object Database Technology to the German market in the early 1990’s and acheived great success in ODBMS distribution and implementation projects for more than 10 years. Dr Frei has expert knowledge in management, corporate governance, human resource management, marketing and finance, particularly as it relates to the telecommunications industry. He is a member of the New Zealand Ice Angels, a network of angel investors, and the NZ Institute of Directors.
