TIA 56 Transimpedance Amplifier TIA 56 is a transimpedance amplifier for the receiver in high-speed opto-electronic transmission systems. Due to the broadband design, the chip can be operated even in small-signal as well as in limiting mode. A strictly differential circuit is used. Both, input and output are terminated with 50 Ohms. TIA 56 is the successor of the MA40, using state-of-the-art SiGe technology with fT ~ 200GHz. The chip consists of two main amplifier stages, both in a modified Cherry-Hooper architecture. The subsequent output buffer is optimizied to drive a 50 Ohms external load. Input and output are terminated with 50 Ohms for optimum reflection coefficients. At the ouput high-ohmic resistors are implemented to tap the DC levels of the output signal without influencing the overall frequency response. An offest current can be injected into the OFFS pins. PackageThe TIA56 is available as bare die or as ruggedized module equipped with K-Connectors. Other connector types upon request. Electrical data | Max. TIA5633 and TIA5652 Transimpedance Amplifier (3.3V and 5.2V) The TIA56xx is a versatile High-Speed Transimpedance Amplifier for data rates up to 56 Gb/s.
Key features are: - single-ended and differential I/O operation,
- very high small signal gain,
- small signal and limiting operation,
- high cut-off frequency,
- low noise,
- adjustable input offset,
- output sense for offset control,
- tunable frequency response,
- dc and ac coupled operation,
- adjustable output voltage swing,
- single supply voltage of -3.3 V or -5.2 V
The TIA56xx consists of a fully symmetrical differential input buffer. This allows differential as well as single ended drive and is optimized for 50 Ohm line termination. For applications which require adjustable input bias or compensation of DC input currents (e.g. photodiodes) the TIA56xx allows to adjust the bias input current for each input independently. This feature can e.g. be used for offset cancellation, pulse shaping, duty cycle adjustment or vertical sampling point adjustment. The TIA56xx exhibits a fully symmetrical differential output buffer which provides either one differential output signal or two single ended output signals. The nominal output amplitude is set to 500 mVpp (differential signal) and can be increased to about 1 Vpp by using the output swing adjustment pin.
Main fields of application are: - TIA for photoreceiver,
- single-ended to differential conversion,
- differential to single-ended conversion,
- amplitude regeneration,
- active power/signal splitter,
- 50 ? line driver.

Each channel of the TIA4C-56xx consists of a fully symmetrical differential input buffer. This allows differential as well as single ended drive and is optimized for 50 ? line termination. For applications which require adjustable input bias or compensation of DC input currents (e.g. photodiodes) the TIA4C-5633 allows to adjust the bias input current for each channel independently. This feature can e.g. be used for offset cancellation, pulse shaping, duty cycle adjustment or vertical sampling-point adjustment. Each channel exhibits a fully symmetrical differential output buffer which provides either one differential output signal or two single ended output signals. The output amplitude is set to typ. 500 mVpp (differential signal) and can be increased to about 1Vpp by using the output swing adjustment pin.
